Robert Baldassari

Robert "Bob" Henry Baldassari, PGA passed away on Wednesday, May 18th. He was surrounded in physical presence by his three kids, and in spirit by hundreds of family and friends around the world who loved him.

Bob hailed from the North End of Boston. He was a proud PGA of America Professional for 53 years and epitomized the ideals of PGA membership: Integrity, service to others, fidelity to the game, pledge of honor and a great responsibility to uphold fair dealing with all. Bob was PGA Head Professional at two golf clubs: Hillview Country Club in North Reading, MA and Kenilworth Lodge in Sebring, FL. His exceptional PGA career at Hillview Country Club spanned nearly 30 years. Bob won many golf tournaments and PGA awards, but was most exceptionally proud of the dozen young Assistant PGA Professionals who worked for him and went on to be PGA Head Professionals.

In recent years Bob was PGA Teaching Professional at Paradise Golf Center in Middleton, MA. He also spent winters at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL. Bob was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Baldassari, his mother Catherine (Cortese) Baldassari, and father Salvatore Baldassari.

Bob is survived by his wife Claire (Foley); son Bob, his wife Pam and kids Olivia, Victoria and Robert Jr. of Palm City, FL; daughter Theresa (Mercurio) her husband Frank and son James of Jupiter, FL; daughter Lisa and son Matthew of Boynton Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's name would be gratefully appreciated and sent to the New England PGA Scholarship Fund in memory of Robert H. Baldassari, PGA . In future years, one boy and one girl from the city of Boston will be helped through this scholarship to have a career in golf.

A Funeral Mass Celebrating Bob's Eternal Life will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 10:30am in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Friday, June 3rd from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM.
