Robert E. Bemis

Robert E. Bemis Jr. of Middleton, formerly of Stoneham passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford. He was 80 years of age.

Born on April 26, 1934 in Boston, Bob was the loving son of the late Robert E. Bemis and Ethel (Smith) Bemis. Bob was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob grew up in Stoneham and graduated from Stoneham High School in 1952. He proudly played semiprofessional hockey and football for many years. He was a self-employed distributor for Sarah Lee, 7 UP and Pepperidge Farms.

Bob was the beloved husband for 19 years of Kristine (Rutka) Bemis. He was the devoted father of Robert E. Bemis III. The loving step father of Joseph Daisley and his wife Katherine and the late Dana Daisley and his surviving wife Mary, Bob was the cherished grandfather of Jillian Bemis and step grandfather of Aurora Hendrick. He was the dear brother of Fredrick Bemis and his wife Rochelle and Richard Bemis and his wife Joan. Bob was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service celebrating Bob's Eternal Life will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family prior to the service from 9:30-10:30am. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
