Robert James "Bob" Linehan

Robert James Linehan of Reading passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 surrounded by family. He was 83 years of age.

Born on November 23, 1931 in Medford, Robert "Bob" grew up in Somerville. He was the loving son of the late George Linehan and Katherine (Tierney) Linehan. Bob was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob was a graduate of Somerville High School and earned an Associate Degree from Burdett College. Bob was a dedicated accountant for many years. He was Treasurer of the Old Redding Battery. He was a loyal usher at St. Agnes Church for over 20 years. An avid golfer, Robert played in the Hillview Senior Men's Golf League. He loved history and watching both college and professional sports.

Bob was the beloved husband for 54 years of the late Irene T. (Simmons) Linehan. He was the devoted father of Catherine Francis and her husband John, Cynthia Muldoon and her husband John, Michele Martin and her husband Don and James Linehan and his wife Lauree. Bob was the cherished grandfather of Mary and Colleen Francis, Michael and Krysten Muldoon, Jessica and Kyle Martin and triplets Will, Elly and Rob Linehan. He was the dear brother of Ruth DeAngelis, the late Dorothy Linehan, and the late Jack Linehan. Bob was also lovingly survived by 1 niece and 3 nephews.

Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Tuesday, August 18th, at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Robert's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 11am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Monday, August 17th from 6-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available. Interment Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
