Robert E. Brown

June 24, 1926 — May 27, 2007

Robert E. Brown of Stoneham and Harrison, Maine passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was 80 years of age.





Born in Portland, Maine, Robert was the loving son of the late Henry Brown Jr. and Geneva (Giberson) Brown. Robert was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed by all.





Robert was a proud graduate of Tufts University. He was a retired Guidance Counselor at Wakefield High School for 25 years. After retiring, Robert was an employee at Ira Motor Cars in Peabody and the Ramada Hotel in Woburn. Robert was a dedicated US Navy Veteran serving on the USS Alaska during World War II. He was the former President of Harrison Shores Association for 25 years. Robert was a devoted member of the Aleppo Shriners, the Mystic Valley Masonic Temple in Arlington and the President of the Sea Side Steppers Square Dance Club.





Robert was the beloved husband for 63 years of Theresa M. (Dionne) Brown. He was the devoted father of Pamela Brown Griffin and her husband Joseph of Middleton and Robin Ann Brown Seymour and her husband Emile of W. Fitchburg. Robert was the cherished grandfather of Joseph H. and Geneva Griffin of Middleton, the dear brother of the late Harry Violette, and the brother in law of Robert Dionne and William Hines of Fresno, California.





A Funeral Service celebrating Robert's life will be held on Friday at 9:30am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend, Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Northumberland Cemetery, Groveton, New Hampshire.
