Robert A. Cameron, beloved husband of the late Marie (MacDonald) Cameron, passed away on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, at the age of 89 with his family at his side.  Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, he is the beloved son of the late Daniel and Margaret (MacLeod) Cameron.

Bob grew up in Glendale, Nova Scotia and attended school in Canada.  He was a devout Catholic his entire life and an altar server until the age of 18 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Glendale, Nova Scotia   In 1954, Bob and his family moved back to Massachusetts at which time he joined the United States Air Force as Military Police and proudly served his country overseas.

While attending the Canadian American Club Dance in Watertown, Bob met the love of his life Marie. They married in July of 1964 and settled in North Reading to raise their family.  Bob owned and operated Bob's Equipment and Lift Company where he sold and installed hydraulic lifts for 40 years.  His company was the only authorized dealer of Rotary lifts in New England.  He was also a member of the North Reading Knights of Columbus.  Bob enjoyed annual deer hunting trips to Canada with friends.  And for over 25 years he enjoyed going to Lake Winnipesaukee where he spent much of his time fishing, boating or relaxing on the deck playing cards. Bob also spent many weekends helping friends and family repairing broken machinery, assisting with home projects and lending a hand whenever someone needed one.  He was a "Mr. Fix it" and could "MacGyver" machines and make them work.

His greatest joy came from being with his family.  Bob loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events, plays and recitals as well as taking them tubing on the lake.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family and dear friends.

Bob is the devoted father of three daughters: Denise Mansour and her husband Jim of Auburn, NH, Dena Cameron of Naples, FL and Doreen Bruno and her husband Rob of Upton, MA.  Cherished grandfather of Jimmy, Kaleigh, Will, Jack and Marie.  Beloved brother of Mary O'Neil and her husband Jim, and the late Catherine Cormier, Frances Cameron, Helen Cameron and Judy Wilkosky.  Bob is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Friday, January 26th, 2024, from 9am to 10:30am.

Following the visitation, a funeral mass will be celebrated for Bob at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., North Reading, at 11:00am.  Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery.  The funeral mass will also be available to live stream by going to the church's website https://www.sttheresarose.org/
