Robert A. D'Ambrosio

September 6, 1932 — September 23, 2017

Robert A. D'Ambrosio of Reading, went home to be with God September 23rd at age 85. He was born in Everett on September 6, 1932 to Antonio D'Ambrosio and Jennie (Giannelli) who await him in Heaven. He was the beloved husband of Maryann (Burkinshaw) with whom he shared 61 years of truly wedded bliss. Together they raised six extraordinary children who brought them great joy. Roberta Davis and her husband Jeff, Michael and his wife Caren, Janet Kelliher and her husband Peter, Richard and his wife Annette, Robert and his wife Donna, and Marybeth DiNapoli and her husband Andy. He was the adoring Papa of eleven wonderful grandchildren who showered him with love. Emily, Michaela and Christina, Anthony, Alex, and Jenna, Sophia, Lydia and Dominic, and Jack and Henry.

Bob was a graduate of Boston English High School and Burdett College. He was a member of the Boston investment community for forty years, retiring as Vice President of Tucker Anthony, and was a respected Financial Advisor to many. He was a former Governor of the Boston Securities Traders Association, Commissioner of Trust Funds in Reading, MA, a member of the Executive Board of St. Athanasius Church and active in Reading Youth Sports programs for many years. His personal passions were golf and boating which he shared with his First Mate and golf partner Maryann, and his children. Photography was a hobby he also loved and practiced since being introduced to it as a boy. Bob was the eldest of four. His sisters Marie Scheet and Jeanne Julian survive him. His brother Gerald of Stoneham predeceased him in 2006.

Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Thursday, September 28th at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Robert's Eternal Life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10:30am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Wednesday, September 27th from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
