Robert F. Devereaux of Stoneham formerly of Charlestown, died March 22, 2007 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford.
He was the beloved husband of Helen T. (Ledford) Devereaux. They would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary June 3rd, 2007. He was the devoted father of Elaine T. Raymond and her late husband Paul of S.Yarmouth, Roberta T. Hasselbrack and her husband Kenneth of Amherst, NH, Dr. Karen Devereaux Melillo and her husband Robert M. of N. Andover, Joan L. Haggerty and her husband Robert of Stoneham and Diane T. Geragosian and her husband Michael of N. Andover. He was the cherished grandfather of Kristin, Paul, Kerry, Michael, Marc, Kara, Eric Joseph, Maureen, Leah, Craig, Adam and Brian and great grandfather of Sean. He was the loving son of the late Frederick L. and Louise F. (Barry) Devereaux and dear brother of the late Frederick and Francis Devereaux.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Robert's life in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Monday 4-7pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
Robert was employed as a United States Customs Inspector and Port Director of Hanscom, Lawrence and Manchester Airports until his retirement and after retirement he was a traffic director for the Town of Stoneham. He was a U.S. Coast Guard Seaman serving Our Country during World War II.
