Robert W. Dresser

Robert W. Dresser, 73, passed away June 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Winchester, MA on July 17, 1944 to the late William R. Dresser and Ruth (Hollins) Dresser and was a lifelong resident of Reading. Robert graduated from Reading Memorial High School and attended Nasson College in Sanford Maine, earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Robert worked for the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (formerly known as the Department of Employment and Training) for 40 years as a budget analyst.

Robert leaves his wife of 51 years, Diane K. Dresser, his sons Willliam R. Dresser and his wife Ruth and Luke K. Dresser and his wife Colleen. Cherished grandfather of Robert, Sara, Aidan, Jackson and Molly.

Robert "Bob" believed in putting his family first, loyalty to his friends, and telling it like it is. He had a great sense of humor and was a master joke-teller with a seemingly limitless supply of jokes. One of his favorite hobbies was assisting his friends with the restoration and maintenance of a flathead engine dragster. He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and with his many friends.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Tuesday June 26th, 2018 in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM from 4pm to 8pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Robert to support Dr. Rory Weiner in the Massachusetts General Hospital Corrigan Minehan Heart Center. Donations may be made online at giving.massgeneral.org, or checks made payable to the Massachusetts General Hospital can be mailed to the address below.
