Robert D. Joyce of Medford passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 27, 1931 in Portland, Maine, Robert is the loving son of the late John Joyce and Elizabeth (Deeker) Joyce. Robert is a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Robert retired from Bank of America as a Banker after several years. During the Korean Conflict, Robert proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Coast Guard.
Robert is the beloved husband of the late Marie (Colella) Joyce. He is the devoted father of Roberta Castiglia, Valerie Joyce – Santini, Marie Joyce – Pelletier, John Joyce, Jennifer Scott and the late Robert Joyce. The cherished grandfather of Matthew, Michael, Joshua and Adam Pelletier, Joseph Castiglia, David and Stephanie Santini, Brendan, Nicole and Jack Joyce and Kyle Scott, Robert is the doting great grandfather of Frank Pelletier.
Family and friend are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Tuesday, July 9th from 9 – 10:30am in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street STONEHAM followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Robert's Eternal Life in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West MEDFORD at 11am. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
