Robert George Marchelletta

Robert George Marchelletta Sr, age 72, died unexpectedly on December 30th at Lahey Clinic with family members by his side. He was the loving husband of Anna (Pappalardo) Marchelletta.

Bob was born on May 11, 1942. He was the son of the late Irene (Lander) and George Marchelletta. He grew up in Malden, MA. Following High School, he joined the Navy where he served proudly and was honorably discharged. After discharge he met Anna and they had three children.

In the 1970's, Bob joined the Air Force Reserves and attended Control Data studying computer Engineering. He held many computer engineering positions including long stints at Digital, Compaq, GenRad, Hewlett Packard and EMC. Bob had his private pilot's license and had a love for airplanes. He was co-owner of Shoreline Aviation at the Marshfield Airport in the 1980's

Bob enjoyed computers, planes and corvettes but more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Anna, he leaves behind his son Michael & wife Gail , son Robert and his wife Suzanne, son Frank and his wife Lisa. Six grandchildren, Michael Marchelletta, Tyler Pearson, Samantha Marchelletta, Jacqueline Marchelletta, Alyssa Marchelletta and Vincent Marchelletta. He is also survived by his brother in-law Anthony Pappalardo and sister-in law Josephine Marchelletta and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Robert's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday, January 2, 2014 from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
