Robert P. Griffin

Robert P. Griffin of Reading, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on May 19 at age 78. Bob was the son of Kenneth Griffin and Ione (Foye) Griffin. He was the beloved husband of JoAnne (Farrah) Griffin and father to Kathleen Griffin and her husband Christian Carrasquillo and Christine (Griffin) Noeth and her husband Jeremy. Bob is also survived by 8 brothers and sisters, Kenneth Griffin, Janice Ritter, Richard Griffin, Diane Chadwell and husband Gary, Stephen Griffin and partner Frank Mockler, William Griffin and wife Josephine, Joan Griffin, Jean Hoyland and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob graduated from Hanover High School in 1966 and UMass Amherst in 1971. He had a long career as a senior systems analyst beginning with the New England Telephone Company and ending with Osram Sylvania in 2013.

Bob was a man who was dedicated to his family and loved being with them. He looked forward to participating in winter sports such as skiing and snowshoeing. He enjoyed traveling and liked to spend time researching new places to visit. In his later years, Bob had a passion for playing music, and many recent family photos show him playing his harmonica.

He will always be remembered for his kindness, his witty sense of humor, and his strength and courage in dealing with a debilitating illness.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Bob's Family on Saturday, July 25th from 10am-12pm in the Barile - Cota Family Funeral Home, 335 Park Street (corner of Park Street and RT 28), North Reading, at Reading line.  A Funeral Service Celebrating Bob's Eternal Life will be held at 12pm in the Funeral Home.
