Robert Leo Redmond

Robert Leo Redmond of Rio San Juan, Dominican Republic, formerly of Reading, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2005 in Rio San Juan. He was 78 years of age.





Born in Somerville, Robert was a lifelong resident of Reading. He was the loving son of Arthur Leo Redmond and Blanche (Colford) Redmond. Robert was a warm and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all.





Robert was the Executive Chef at the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston. He enjoyed building model railroads, furniture and clocks. He liked art and museums. He was known for his exceptional photography skills, and he loved being in the Dominican Republic.





Robert was the beloved husband of the late Sara (Lyons) Redmond. He was the devoted father of Michael Redmond of Cambridge, Margaret Heselton and her husband Robert of Reading, Maureen Carney and her husband Kevin of North Andover, Robert Redmond of Reading and Anne-Marie DiMauro and her husband Frank of Woburn. Robert was the cherished grandfather of Dylan Roberts, Jill and Sarah Heselton, Michael and Sean Carney, Samantha, Alexandra and Madeline DiMauro. He was the dear brother of Frances Eisenhaure of N. Reading, Richard Redmond of Reading and June Banfield of New Hampshire.





Funeral from the Joseph Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Saturday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Robert's life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 9am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Friday 3-7pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
