Robert F. Richards of Peabody passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2004 at Brooksby Village in Peabody. He was 83 years of age.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William Richards and Catherine F. (Hunter) Richards. Robert was a dedicated Installation Supervisor for A.T.&T. for 40 years. Robert was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus and the V.F.W. Robert loved to travel, he enjoyed walking on the beach and he was an avid woodworker. During World War II, Robert proudly served our country in the United States Navy.
Robert was the husband of the late Virginia L. (Bagwell) Richards. He was the father of Kathleen McGreavy and her husband John of Maine, Robert F. Richards and his wife Melinda of New York and the grandfather of Bridie, Katie and Anna McGreavy and Gretchen and Rebecca Richards. Robert was the longtime companion of Gertrude "Trudy" (Melamed) Katz and the beloved friend of Michael Katz and his wife Barbara and family of Marblehead.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass being celebrated on Thursday at 10am in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, in Bedford, New Hampshire.
Donations in memory of Robert may be made to the Soldier's Home 91 Crest Avenue Chelsea, Massachusetts 02150.
