Robert L. Rivers

Robert L. Rivers of Stoneham, passed away on Wednesday, June 01, 2016 at Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading. He was 78 years of age.

Born on October 14, 1937 in Cambridge, Robert was the loving son of the late Leo Rivers and Catherine (Croteau) Rivers. Robert was a warm and caring partner, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Robert spent 27 years with his beloved partner Janice, where he lived in Stoneham Massachusetts and was a lifelong resident. Robert was very involved in the community and participated in different charitable organizations such as H.O.T (Helping Our Troops) of Stoneham. When not serving his community Robert was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his days hunting and fishing. Robert spent his career working hard and was the Executive Vice President of Homan's Associates. Robert was also a member of the armed forces and was a Staff Sargent in the Massachusetts National Guard for 10 years.

Robert was the beloved lifelong partner to Janice Reilly. Robert also was the former husband of Joan (Walsh) Rivers, they spent 30 years together. He was the devoted father of Robert Rivers Jr and his wife Angele, Michelle Passi and her husband Anthony, Brian Rivers and his wife Sandra, Michael Rivers and his wife Melissa, Robert Reilly and Kristen, Kerry Rane and Doug. Robert was the cherished grandfather of 11.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the Family on Saturday from 2-6pm with a service beginning at 5:30pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
