Robert H. Svendsen, Sr.
Robert H. Svendsen, Sr., of Stoneham, MA affectionately known as "Benny" to his loved ones, passed away at his home on April 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 23, 1945, in East Boston, MA then moved to Beachmont where he attended the Revere Public Schools, later moving to Stoneham where he and his wife of 54 years, Betty Lou, raised their family.
Benny owned and operated a successful roofing company for over 40 years where his dedication and experience left a lasting impact on those around him.
During his life, Benny proudly served in the Marine Reserves. His commitment to his country reflected his strong sense of duty and honor.
Benny adored fishing with his boys and his grandchildren. He was a proud member of the Pine Terrace Association for over 45 years and thoroughly enjoyed his times at the cottage with all of his family and friends. Benny also loved traveling with Betty Lou, especially to the Caribbean for many years.
Benny was the beloved husband of Betty Lou, devoted father of Robert Jr., and his wife Christina, Ryan and his wife Vicki, Darren and his wife Carla. He is also survived by his brother Carl and his wife Deen. Cherished Grampy to Michaela, Benjamin, Jason, Ryan, Nora and Gavin. Benny is now reunited in heaven with his late parents Oluf & Margaret (Aldus), and brother Eric. He is also survived by his brother and sister in laws as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of Robert H. Svendsen will be held at Barile Family Funeral Home-Stoneham for visitation on May 6th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass will take place at Saint Patrick Church in Stoneham on May 7th at 10:00 AM followed by interment at Lindenwood Cemetery at 11:30 AM.

Benny's memory will forever be cherished by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
