Robert J. Walley of Reading passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2008 at Kindred Hospital in Peabody. He was 83 years of age.
Robert was the Beloved father of six children that reside in various parts of Florida and the Cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren. Robert will be greatly missed by Isabelle Laetsch of Reading, his best friend.
Robert was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was the Past Commander of the Cpl. Scott J. Procopio American Legion, Post 210, Saugus and the Past Commander of District 8. Robert was also in the Installing Suite for District 8 for many years. He also had a Life Membership in the V.F.W.
Robert was retired from The General Electric Company in Lynn after working there for 40 years.
Robert was an usher for St. Athanasius in Reading for many years.
A Funeral Service celebrating Robert's life will be held on Friday at 11 am in the Chapel of the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street, READING. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours, Friday 9-10:45 a.m. Interment Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading.
