IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert J.
Willis
July 8, 1953 – November 9, 2024
Robert J. Willis, beloved husband of Kathy (Batten) Willis, passed away on Saturday, November 9th, 2024. Born in Boston, Robert is the loving son of the late George and Ann (Steeves) Willis.
Bob's parents passed away when he was young. He moved to Burlington and was raised by his Aunt Patricia. He graduated from Burlington High School. Where he met the love of his life, Kathy. In 1974, Kathy and Bob were married and began their life in Wakefield, later moving to North Reading. An electrician by trade, Bob worked for many years, later working for himself.
Bob was an avid boater. He and his family often spent weekends in Beverly and Salem Harbor exploring islands. Or at their cottage, exploring the waters of Winona or Winnipesaukee. He and his family are lifetime members of Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly. Bob enjoyed fishing, crabbing, diving into the water and long distance swims. He and his family had many fond memories being together, especially during the 4th of July celebrations each year. We would watch the fireworks displays from multiple towns while lounging in the warm waters off the boat.
In addition to his love of boating Bob enjoyed nature. working in his yard he took great pride in his stonewalls and the way it was maintained. Bob was also a history buff, who enjoyed coin collecting and photography. His quick wit and clever turns of phrase will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to being the loving husband of Kathy, Bob is the devoted father of James Robert Willis of North Reading. Beloved brother-in-law of Tracy Batten and his wife Laura of Westford and nephews Christopher Batten of Woburn and Michael Batten of Westford. Loving cousin of Linda Ceresosimo and Celeste Thurlow. Brother of George Willis and Karen Willis. Bob also leaves Abe his Jack Russell rescue pup.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bob's Memory to a Charity of One's Choice.
