Rodger A. Smith, of Reading, passed away on September 2, 2006 at. Winchester Hospital. He was 64 years old.
Rodger was a life long resident of Reading, proudly serving his Country with the United States Navy. He was a wonderful man and would help anybody. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be missed by all.
Rodger was a mechanic for many years. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He also was a member of the Billerica Gun Club and the National Rifle Association.
Rodger was the loving husband of Marty Taylor of Reading. He was the cherished son of the late Edward and Dorothy (McDonald) Smith. Rodger was the devoted father of Debby Hibbard and her husband Jim of Swanzey N.H., Joseph Bankowski of Swanzey N.H., Chris Bankowski of Florida and George Taylor of Virginia. He was the loving grand father of 10 including Kimberly Bankowski. Rodger was the dear cousin of Richie McDonald of Reading.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Rodgers life will be held in the Chapel of Joseph Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING on Wednesday at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday from 7-9pm. Parking is available in the Municipal Parking Lot behind Atlantic Supermarket located on Haven St.
