Rosa (Rosetta Rambolini) Giliberto, of Stoneham, passed away peacefully on Monday December 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her friends and family. She was 88 years of age.
Rosa was born in Augusta, Italy and was the oldest of eight siblings. At the age of 25 she married the love of her life Salvatore Giliberto (married for nearly 60 years) and moved to Venezuela to start a new life with her husband. She remained in Venezuela for ten years and immigrated to the United States in September 1970. Boston was now her new home for her family. She settled into her new life with her husband and three children. She was an incredibly talented seamstress, where it became her occupation and her favorite past time.
Rosa retired in 1996 and lived a part of her golden years in Boca Raton, Florida with her husband until her grandchildren Chloe, Brooke and Matthew Jr. were born and made the decision to move to Stoneham MA to be close to her grandchildren. She spent her time caring and cooking for her grandchildren and reading romance novels. She was a devoted mother, sister and grandmother who always put family first and will be greatly missed.
Rosa is the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Giilberto. She is the cherished mother of Domenica DiVirgilio and her husband Phil, Sandra Giliberto Callahan and her husband Matthew and the late Neli Giliberto. She is the devoted grandmother of Tania Quinn, Lisa DiVirgilio, Nicholas DiVirgilio, Chloe Callahan, Brooke Callahan and Matthew Callahan Jr. Dear sister of Giuseppe Rambolini, Maurizio Rambolini and the late Anita Raffaghelli, Alfredo Rambolini and Orazio Rambolini. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Italy.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with her family on Thursday December 28th, 2023 from 7:30 am to 8:30 am in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Rosa's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 9am. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
