Rosa (Rodrigues) Serrao

Rosa da C. (Rodrigues), Serrao of Somerville, April 9th, 2017 at age 84. Beloved wife of the late Jaime G. Serrao. Devoted mother of Nixon Serrao of Stoneham, Argenis Serrao and his wife Maria of Melrose, Nelson Serrao and his wife Lillian of Chicopee, Marisol Serrao of Reading and Anita Demetri and her husband Scott of North Reading. Cherished grandmother of Jonathan Serrao, Briana Serrao, Kellie Serrao, Alexander Serrao, Alyssa Demetri, Nikolas Serrao, Zachary Demetri, Ariana Demetri and the late Kristiana Serrao. Dear sister of Maria Alda Martins and the late Alvaro, Antonio, Arnaldo, Raul and Agostinho Rodrigues. Daughter of the late Francisco and Ana (Lucas) Rodrigues.

Rosa was born in Madeira, Portugal where she married Jaime on February 12, 1956. Shortly thereafter they immigrated to Caracas, Venezuela where the four oldest children were born. They immigrated to the United States in 1970 to Somerville where their youngest daughter was born and spent more than 30 years there. They were married for 58 years before the passing of Jaime. She was a dedicated employee at Priscilla of Boston. Rosa was a devoted and loving wife, mother to her five children and grandmother to her nine grandchildren. Rosa was known for her fierce devotion to her family and her funny and feisty personality. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday, April 15th at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Rosa's Eternal Life in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St. Somerville at 10:30am.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Friday April 14th 2017 from 3-7pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and handicapped elevator are available.

Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Please honor Rosa by making donations in her memory to Alzheimer's Assoc., 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472 which was a cause dear to her.
