Rosalind Elaine Arsenault, of Reading, age 83, passed away suddenly on June 2, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Peter Arsenault. Rosalind is survived by her five children and their spouses, Michael and Anne Arsenault, Michele and Thomas Leonard, Deborah and Raymond Price, Douglas and Cindy Arsenault, Gregory and Karen Arsenault, and daughter-in-law, Debra Arsenault. She was a much loved Nana to Stephanie and her husband, Charley Moore, Melanie and Matthew Leonard, Tyler and Madison Price, Kayla and Katelyn Arsenault, Raymond, Bryan, Dylan and Brandon Arsenault, and great-Nana to Tatum and Jameson Moore.
Rosalind was born in Cambridge and happily grew up in North Reading on Martin's Pond. She was the daughter of the late Dominic and Marion Silva. She was also predeceased by her brothers Gerald Brown, Victor and Dominic Silva, and her sister Marianne Lipert. She is survived by her brother, Ronnie Silva and his wife, Maggie, her sister, Flo Forbes and her husband, Ken, sister-in-law Jackie Silva and brother-in-law Doug Lipert, as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear, lifelong friends, Barbara Powers, Jean Thomson, MaryLou Furlong and Alice Ashdown.
Married in 1954, Rosalind moved to Reading a few years later where she resided until her untimely death. She was a stay at home Mom while her children were small, then worked as a hostess in the restaurant business for over 40 years, which she truly enjoyed. Many of those years were spent at what was once The Colonial Restaurant in Lynnfield, The Kernwood Restaurant, and then onto The Horseshoe Grill in North Reading where she felt right at home, finally retiring at the age of 81 in 2013.
Besides loving being with her family, Rosalind's favorite past-times were playing bingo, knitting, crocheting, sewing and the planting of her flowers where she resided for the past 10 years at Cedar Glen in Reading. She also enjoyed, very much, the company of her friends at Cedar Glen. She was a diehard Red Sox fan and her favorite player was, and will always be, Manny Ramirez.
Rosalind was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
