Rose DiTucci, formerly of Arlington, MA, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 at Masconomet Healthcare in Topsfield, MA on Monday, February 12, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander F. DiTucci, with whom she shared more than 40 years of marriage. Rose was born on April 5, 1920 to the late Carlo and Virgina (Miele) Petricone. She was the sister of the late Paul Petricone and Civita Simeone.
At the age of 19, Rose left her home in Gaeta, Italy with her mother to join her father, sister, and brother in Somerville, MA. She and Al raised their two sons, Richard and Paul, in Arlington, MA.
Above all, Rose put family first. She loved holidays, family celebrations, her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She loved cooking and teaching her family how to make her Italian delicacies. She was generous with her time and love. She was wise, courageous, and kind. She always enjoyed being with younger family and friends, listening to them without judgment and dispensing timeless words of wisdom about life and family.
Rose is survived by her son Richard A. DiTucci and his wife, Joann, of Burlington, and by her son Paul D. DiTucci and his wife, Sue, of Topsfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren Danielle, Michael, Alexandra, Melissa and her great granddaughter Kaiyana. Rose is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Friday February 16th, 2018 from 4 to 8 in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM Saturday February 17th, 2018 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Rose's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church 51 Medford St. Arlington at 10 am. Interment will be at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt. Auburn St. Cambridge at 11:30am. Following the interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery please continue to celebrate Rose's life at The Tuscan Kitchen 2400 District Ave. Burlington MA from 1pm to 5pm. All family and friends are invited.
