Rose M. (Wolfert) Fougere of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at her home. She was 97 years of age.
Born in South Boston, Rose was the loving daughter of the late David Wolfert and Julia A. (Gross) Wolfert. Rose was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sorely missed.
Rose was a member of Saint Patrick's Parish in Stoneham. She was the Treasurer of Saint Patrick's Church Mothers Club and a member of Our Lady of Sodality. Rose was a dedicated book keeper at Berger Company in South Boston and a lab worker at Atlantic Gelatin in Woburn.
Rose was the beloved wife of the late John V. Merrill and James B. Fougere. She was the devoted mother of John V. Merrill Jr., Rosemarie Merrill and Sister Paula J. Merrill, SCN. Rose was the cherished grandmother of David Merrill, Regina Maginnis, Paul, John and Mark Merrill and 9 step grandchildren. She was the loving great grandmother of 5 and step great grandmother of 13. Rose was the step great grandmother of the late James J. and Joseph L. Fougere. She was the dear sister of the late Mary Basler, Julia T. Wolfert, John Wolfert, and Joseph Wolfert.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Rose's life in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-7pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
