Rose A. (Fasano) LaCava of Reading passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on Wednesday, October 21, 1942 in Boston, Rose is the loving daughter of the late Carl Fasano and Elena (Marasca) Fasano. Rose is a warm, gentle and kind daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Born and raised in East Boston, Massachusetts, Rose and Dom met as teens and married in 1962. For the last 45 years, they resided in Reading, Massachusetts where they were active in the community and raised their family. A committed homemaker, wife, mother and Nonna, Rose loved decorating her home with Norman Rockwell plates and Christmas Carolers to create a festive and cozy home for hosting large family gatherings and holiday celebrations. An avid traveler, Rose and Dom enjoyed many trips to destinations including Italy, Disney World, Hawaii, and Lake Winnipesaukee. She accompanied Dom on many of his business trips around the world and they were regulars at restaurants such as Café Budapest and Olives over the years. Her husband, children and grandchildren were the center of her life and she always put them first. Known for always being happy and optimistic, those who know her best remember her as always having a smile on her face – even after being struck with ALS 20+ years ago. An ALS warrior, she faced her battle fiercely with courage, dignity and determination and she ultimately won the war. For that, she will be remembered as an inspiration to everybody who knew her and to everyone touched by ALS.
Rose is the beloved wife of Domenic J. LaCava with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July of 2022. She is the devoted mother of Laura Sultan and her husband Thomas and Donnie LaCava and his wife Jennifer. The cherished grandmother of Joshua Sultan, Jacob Sultan, Allie LaCava, Eliza LaCava and CJ LaCava, Rose is also lovingly survived by many extended family members, neighbors and friends.
