Mr. Russell John LeFave, 90, of Reading, passed away on Friday August 18th at home with his loving family by his side.
The son of the late George and Mary (Doucette) LeFave, he was born in Reading and was an area resident all of his life. Mr. LeFave attended the Wayside School for Boys, offered by Henry Ford, in Sudbury, MA. He was a Petty Officer 3rd Class in the United States Navy and served as a Machinist Mate during WWII in both the Pacific and European theaters. Upon his return from serving overseas on the U.S.S. Wilkes-Barre, he drove a sight-seeing bus for Greyline during the summer and delivered home heating oil in the winter. Mr. LeFave retired in 1986 after 30 years of truck driving for Esso/Exxon. He is pre-deceased by his daughter Mary M. LeFave, son Stephen J. LeFave, three sisters; Lillian, Louise, and Nellie, seven brothers; Edmund, Enos, George, Albert, Elmer, Robert, and Thomas. Mr. LeFave is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Nancy M. (Litchfield) LeFave of Reading, two daughters; Diane Marini and her spouse Jane Bresnahan of Hampstead, NH, Theresa (Terri) Palmer and her husband David of Haverhill, MA; four grandchildren; Danielle (Marini) Messina and her husband John of Hampstead, NH, Erica (Marini) McDonald and her husband Scott of Seabrook, NH, Benjamin Palmer and Jessica Palmer both of Haverhill, MA; four great-grandchildren Ava and Amelia McDonald; Giovanni and Alexia Messina. Mr. LeFave will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St., READING, on Wednesday August 23rd at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Russell's Eternal Life at St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Tuesday August 22nd from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance available.
