Ruth Mae (Howley) Coppola passed away peacefully on Thursday September 21, 2017 with her family by her side. She was 83 years of age.
Born in Medford MA, Ruth was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Watson) Howley. She was a resident of Reading for many years. She loved golfing and doing puzzles. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Ruth was a woman of strength and faith living each day to the fullest. As an evangelist of Christ she was a cursiesta and active in the RCIA program at St. Agnes. She often donated platelets to the American Red Cross.
Her family were first and foremost in her life. She loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Franklin T. Coppola. Loving mother of Bill Coppola and his wife Pat, Shane Morris and his wife Marcia, Sue Coppola and her husband Kevin Montgomery, Janet Walker and her husband Josh. Devoted grandmother of Rachel O'Neil and her husband Evan, Tom Coppola, Kaitlyn Thibodeau and her husband James, and Megan Ruth Boissonneau. Sister of the late Doris Ferrara and John Howley. Sister in Law of Marie Upton and very dear friend to Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Tuesday September 26th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Ruth's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10am. Interment Charles Lawn Cemetery, Reading.
