Ruth (Hoyt) Fennelly of Reading passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Winchester Hospital. She was 92 years of age.
Born on August 27, 1922 in Reading, Ruth was the loving daughter of the late Carl H. Hoyt and Florence (Doucette). Ruth was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who were privileged to have known her.
Ruth was a dedicated homemaker for several years. She had an abundant love for her family. They were first and foremost in her life. Ruth was proud to have been one of the first women to work at the Reading Post Office. She was a loyal member of the St. Agnes Guild and Ladies of Solidarity. Ruth could also be seen working the polls during election season.
Ruth was the beloved wife of the late George E. Fennelly, Jr. She was the devoted mother of Jon'Michael and wife Patricia, Thomas and wife Dawn, Carl and Angela, Patricia Jordan and husband William, George and wife Lisa, Sheila Bruce and husband Douglas and the late Mary Patricia. The cherished grandmother of 20 and loving great grandmother of 27, Ruth was the dear sister of Brendan Hoyt and wife Sally, Quentin Hoyt and wife Barbara, Leonard "Babe" Hoyt and wife Patricia and the late Richard Hoyt and his late wife Barbara, the late Carl Hoyt and his surviving wife Dorothy and the late Patricia Hoyt. She was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING Friday, September 19, 2014 at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Ruth's Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:30am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
