Ruth E. (Goodwin) Smith, of Stoneham, formerly of East Boston, passed away on Thursday April 22, 2021 at age 98. Devoted wife of the late Donald G. Smith. Loving daughter of the late Lillian (Stegeman) and Burns Goodwin. Beloved twin sister of the late Esther DiStasio and her late husband Frank and the late Hazel Rawlings, Kenneth and George Goodwin. Godmother of Denise Ruth Ritchie and Brian DiStasio and his wife Laura and their sons Kristopher and Nicholas. Dear aunt of Karen (Goodwin) Rowen and Steven Goodwin and niece Janet Logan and Martha Delosa and many other nieces and nephews and friends. Special love to Marsha Elixson


A Funeral Service Celebrating Ruth's Eternal Life will be held on Thursday April 29th at 11 am in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) STONEHAM. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday April 28th from 3 to 7 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available. Due to state regulations for Covid-19, a mask is required while in the funeral home as well as social distancing at all times.
