Salvatore J. Cammarata

July 21, 1914 — January 5, 2005

Salvatore J. "Sal" Cammarata of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham. He was 90 years of age.





Born in Boston, Sal was the son of the late John J. Cammarata and Angela (Daquila) Cammarata. Sal was an adoring son, brother, husband, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all.





Sal was a dedicated stock clerk for 1st National Stores for many years. He was a loyal member of the VFW and Teamsters. Sal was a pitcher for the Saint Louis Cardinals, however, he was an avid Red Sox Fan. During World War II, Sal proudly served our country in the United States Army.





Sal was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude (Roberts) Cammarata. He was the dear brother of Charles J. Cammarata of Stoneham, and the late Josephine A. Curtis and Ann Cammarata, both of Stoneham. Sal was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Patrick's Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Sunday 2-6pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
