Salvatore Macera

Salvatore Macera, Retired Executive, passed away on Wednesday October 29, 2003 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a long fight with cancer. He was 72 years of age.
Salvatore is survived by his wife of 32 years, Daphne, and his three children from a previous marriage, Michael, Richard, Michelle and 4 beloved grandchildren. Born in Somerville, Mr. Macera was the son of the late Benedetto Macera and Anna (DeVellis) Macera. He was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His family was first and foremost in his life. He will be missed by all.
Mr. Macera grew up in Somerville and after graduation served in the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of Bentley College and Northeastern University. His career began at Ford Motor Company after which he joined Laboratory for Electronics where he was Corporate Controller. He then began a twenty year career with ITEK Corporation, where he held positions as Corporate Controller, Treasurer, Vice President, Director and Chief Executive Officer and Director of Camelot Corporation, a new Corporation made up of all of the former ITEK Commercial optical divisions. He also served on the Board of Trustees of the Liberty Funds and of Bentley College.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9am in St. Patrick's Church on Saturday November 1, 2003.
