Samuel James Figucia

May 4, 1927 — May 29, 2021

Samuel J. Figucia of Stoneham passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Saturday, May 29, 2021. He was 94 years of age.

Born on May 4, 1927 in Woburn, Samuel is the loving son of the late Frank Figucia and Marian (DeSalvo) Figucia. Samuel is a warm and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

During World War II, Samuel proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Technician Fourth Grade in the United States Army.

Sam was a hardworking, selfless, and dedicated family man. He loved Sunday dinners and holiday festivities with his family. He was also an avid sports fan, and his beloved Red Sox kept him entertained throughout the years. He enjoyed watching the Patriots with his grandchildren and son-in-law! In the summer, Sam turned his free time into gardening, starting with his hotbed full of flowers! Family, friends, and neighbors would eagerly await deliveries of his tomatoes every year.

Later in life, his hobby turned into bird watching and he knew almost every species! He always made sure to share this knowledge with his family. Sam was a retired employee of Winchester Hospital where he worked as an electrician for over 30 years. He enjoyed getting up and going to work each and every day!

Sam was always there when you needed him, lending a helping hand or encouragement. He was truly one of a kind, born into the "Greatest Generation" and will always be known as a wonderful, sweet gentleman.

Samuel is the beloved husband of the late Ida (Gallella) Figucia. He is the devoted father of Charlene Angelosanto and her husband Bill and Michele Figucia. The cherished grandfather of Amy Raffaelo and her husband Brian, Danny Angelosanto and Julian Michael Figucia, Samuel is the dear brother of Sally Cannon and the late Agnes Kiklis, Vera DeAngelo, Viola Iritano, Loretta, Susan, John, James, Joseph, Angelo and Frank Figucia. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
