Sandra A. (Mitchell) Bird

Sandra A. (Mitchell) Bird of Stoneham passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 24th, 2026. She is 78 years of age.

Born on Sunday, November 16, 1947 in Somerville, Sandra is the loving daughter of the late Forbes R. Mitchell and the late Veronica (Hill) Mitchell. Sandra is a warm, kind, gentle & loyal daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed.

Sandra’s greatest joy in life was her family. Nothing meant more to her than being surrounded by the people she loved, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Bill, building a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. Together, they especially cherished their winters spent in Fort Myers, Florida, at the Pink Shell holding a special place in their hearts. Sandra found happiness in the simple things—spending summers by the pool, sitting outside in the sun, going shopping, watching her favorite shows, and, of course, enjoying something sweet. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, and some of her family’s most treasured memories are simply the time they spent together. She loved deeply, laughed often, and was happiest when the people she loved were close by. Her warmth, humor, smile, and unwavering love for her family will live on through the countless memories she leaves behind.

Sandra is the beloved wife or William J. “Bill” Bird. She is the devoted mother of Allison Limone and her husband James and the late Billy J. Bird Jr. The cherished grandmother of Billy J. Bird III and his wife Meghan, Jessica R. Scola and her husband Billy, Alyssa M. Limone, Victoria E. Limone and her fiancé Michael Luker and Kayleigh N. Bird, Sandra is the doting great grandmother of Breelyn J. Bird, Mason D. Bird, Bentley J. Bird and Antonio J. Scola. She is the dear sister of the late Jane Crilley and her late husband Charles. Sandra is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will truly miss her.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Sandra’s Family on Thursday, October 1st from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM on Friday, October 2nd at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Sandra’s Eternal Life in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street Stoneham at 10am. Interment Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
