Sara E. (Apalakis) MacDonald of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, September 04, 2007 at her home. She was 94 years of age.
Born in Stoneham, Sara was a lifelong resident here. She was the loving daughter of the late Edward Apalakis and Maria (Karas) Apalakis. Sara was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. She will be sorely missed.
Sara was a proud graduate of Stoneham High School in the class of 1931. She worked at Shaffers and the Stoneham Public Library.
Sara was the beloved wife of the late Walter MacDonald. She was the devoted mother of Reverend Leslie MacDonald and his late wife Reverend Audrey MacDonald of Connecticut. Sara was the dear sister of Anna Sullivan and her late husband Charles of California and the late George E., Nicholas E., Peter E., Marjorie and Elizabeth Apalakis. She was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service celebrating Sara's life will be held on Thursday at 10am in the Chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visitation prior from 9am - 10am. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
