Scott S. Klein

September 16, 1957 — October 28, 2016

Scott S Klein of Reading was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, passed away October 28 2016 at the age of 59. He was the beloved and devoted father of Harrison Klein. Dear son of Shirley B (Jordan) Klein and the late Max A. Klein. Former husband of Ann (Thornton) Klein. He is also survived by former mother-in-law Toshi Piro, former brother in-law and sister in-law, Mark and Mary Ellen O'Connor, their children, Mitchell, Jacqueline and Spencer O'Connor and companion Yvonne Spicer.

Scott graduated from Kansas State University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in marketing with minor in finance. He worked for AT&T for 16 years. While working, he went on to pursue a Masters Degree in Accountancy in 1998. Afterwards, he realized that he was pursuing a career that he did not love fully and decided to change careers. So he went back to Bentley and attained a Masters Degree in Personal Financial planning from the Elkin B. McCallum of Graduate School of Business in 2002.

He went on to hold personal financial planning positions with Arthur Anderson, Tanager Financial, Wachovia Bank, and Wells Fargo. His last position was with Lexington Wealth Management as a Senior Relationship Manager. In his spare time Scott was an Adjunct Professor teaching Investments and Capital Accumulation in the Masters of Science Financial Planning Department at the McCallum Graduate School of Business / Bentley University. Scott always expressed how fulfilled he was by his career. He truly enjoyed working as a financial planner and as an adjunct professor.

He was also involved with additional organizations that include: Former Treasurer / Board Member, Reading Scholarship Foundation for five years; Boston Estate Planning Council; Boston Security Analysts Society; and the Financial Planning Association.

Scott was an amazingly personable man. His incredible disposition and his engaging way of talking to you made him an excellent person to hold a conversation with. His loud laugh was sure to brighten your day and is something his friends and family will truly miss.

Scott loved spending time with his family and friends. He spent many hours playing basketball growing up and playing basketball with his son Harrison. As a Kansas State University fan, he enjoyed supporting the college basketball and football teams with his family and his parents. When he moved to Boston area, he became a local college fan going to Boston College basketball and football games with his family. He also enjoyed professional sports, traveling, reading and music.

He will be missed so very much. However, we should all be thankful that we knew someone of this caliber. They don't come around often in this world and it was truly a blessing to know and be around Scott Klein.
