Scott Sawyer of Lynn, formerly of Melrose passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Winchester Hospital.

Scott is the cherished son of the late Carl Sawyer and June (Scott) Sawyer. Scott is a warm and caring son, brother, husband, uncle, in-law and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Scott was an animal lover and he especially loved his dogs Gypsy, Ringo, Roxy, Samantha & Goldie. He enjoyed spending time in Lincoln, New Hampshire, at the Pemi Cabins and exploring the area of the White Mountains and Great North Woods Region. An expert "pit master," Scott was passionate about barbecue and delighted many people with his talents. He loved his motorcycle, exploring the New England area with his fellow bike enthusiasts, and annually participated in Boston's Annual Wounded Vet Bike Run to honor the wounded veterans of New England. Scott was an avid reader and the type of guy you'd want on your trivia team. He was very funny and quick witted. He enjoyed volunteering for the Pan Mass Challenge and for local animal rescue groups.

Scott is the beloved husband for 26 years of Susan (Kilty) Sawyer. He is the dear brother of Andrea Lothrop and her husband Richard and Dorothy VanPraet. Scott is the loving son in law of Patricia (Risser) Kilty and her late husband Robert E.; the devoted brother in law of David R. Kilty and his wife Annmarie, Matthew H. Kilty and his wife Rachael and the late Virginia Kilty Connolly, Scott was an adoring uncle of Alan VanPraet and his wife Jodi, Sean VanPreat and his wife Nicole, Melissa Balderelli and her wife Amanda, Adam Connolly, Dylan Dichiara and Robert, Jack, Sean, Haydn, Adysn, Peytn, and Avlyn Kilty. He is also survived by his loving great nieces and great nephews Madelyn, Adam, Cameron, Alex and Jenna.
