Shawn Michael "Fish" Rand, born July 14, 1964 in Reading, Massachusetts, was promoted to Glory on March 23, 2022 at the age of 57. He was surrounded by his family, who were his greatest joy, and was ushered peacefully to rest with his parents, Shirley Rand and William Fredrick Rand Jr. in Heaven.
Shawn is survived by Gidget Manning, his beloved life partner of 14 years, his daughter Abigail Booth and
her husband Cody, his son Mackenzie "Macka" Rand and his wife Emma, and the apple of his eye grandson, Mackenzie "Z" Rand II, and
youngest son Troy Rand. Shawn is also survived by Gidget's children, Eamon Manning, Brenna Manning, and Collin Manning. Forever remembered by his siblings, Sheryl Rand Pappalardo, William Rand III and Thomas Rand. Former husband of Dara Shea. Shawn was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Shawn will be most remembered for his larger-than-life personality and generosity, which he expressed through his relationships with family, friends and all who knew him. His inviting smile and infectious laugh will be sorely missed. Though he faced some adversity over the last few years, Shawn still lived each day full of joy, adventure and service to others. He was the president of North East Real Estate Advisors which he ran for 23 years. He graduated from
University of Texas as a member of the class of 1988 with a degree in Radio-Television-Film. His entire family will cherish the fond memories of ski trips, movie nights and delicious meals shared while celebrating his life each and every day until they are united again.
Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING on Wednesday March 30th, 2022 at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Shawn's Eternal Life in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10:30 am. Interment will be St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Tuesday March 29th, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
