Shirley (Phalon) McTighe

Shirley M. (Phalon) McTighe, of Stoneham, passed away on May 5, 2015 at age 81 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House.
Born on May 28, 1933 in Lowell, Shirley was the loving daughter of the late John H. and Helen (Eliason) Phalon. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Stoneham. She attended Stoneham public schools. She had a great love for her cats but above all loved spending time with her family and friends.
Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. McTighe. She was the devoted mother of Patricia Kulka and her husband Steven, Kenneth McTighe and his partner Phyllis Motta, Linda McTighe and her partner Jeffrey Raffaelo, John McTighe and his partner Mary Ann Benedetto and the late Robert D. McTighe and his surviving wife Susan. She was the cherished grandmother of Robbie, Katie and her husband Seth, Timmy, Jason and his wife Lindsay, Ryan, Daniel, Chris, Kelly, Justin and Kristin and the step-grandmother of Laura, Stefanie, Gillian and Genna. Shirley was the great grandmother of Wesley, Emma, Haylee and Tommy. She was the dear sister of the late Helen Phalon, Edward Phalon and Barbara Daley and her surviving husband George. Shirley is also survived by good friends Gail Farris, Joyce and Jack Goodwin and the many angels that upheld her quality of life at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Holy Family Hospital and Haverhill Crossings.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Shirley's Eternal Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00am in the First Congregational Church, 1 Church Street, Stoneham. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT28), STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator available. Interment at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
