Sophie (Sermos) Spartos Basiliere –Of Quincy, formerly of Somerville, Hull and Hingham died peacefully at the age 94, on Jan. 4th at Aviv Centers for Living, in Peabody. She worked as the former party consultant at the Top of The Hub in Boston. Sophie was born in Somerville MA on December 2, 1920 to the late Ahelea and Evangilia Sermos. Married to the late George (Sparky) A. Spartos of Somerville and the late Oliver Basiliere of Hingham. Loving mother of Dr. Anthony G. Spartos and his wife Mary Anne of Lynn and Gary G. Spartos and his wife Mary Berry- Spartos of Hingham. Adored sister of Kemon Sermos and his wife Sybil of Somerville and the late George "Hockey" Sermos and Plato "Paul" Sermos. Grandmother of Dr. Eleni O'Donovan and, James, Richard, Peter, George and Paul Spartos. Great grandmother of Niamh, Nora, Ronan and Tuiren O'Donovan and Sophia, Diane, Gary, Anthony and Eula Spartos. Loving Aunt of many nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends for her love of life and fun. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service in The Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central St., Somerville at 11am. Calling hours at the CHURCH are Friday 9am-11am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
