Sophie A. (Caneles) "Toni" Wight of Woburn passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Winchester Nursing Center. She was 87 years of age.
Born in Hudson, Toni was the loving daughter of the late George Caneles and Pauline (Kaceanou) Caneles. Toni was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sorely missed.
Toni attended Boston Public Schools and Girls Latin School where she excelled in all sports. She worked for American Airlines in Boston and Hartford and retired in 1984 after over 30 years of service. Toni also did volunteer work for Lahey Clinic in Burlington for numerous years.
Toni was the beloved wife of the late Dennis Boucher and the late Hall N. Wight. She was the devoted mother of Jeanne (Boucher) Marasca and her husband Robert of Lexington, Jacqueline (Boucher) Ruggiero and her husband Richard of Woburn. Toni was the cherished grandmother of Roberta Marasca, Stephanie (Marasca) Henry, Jodie Ruggiero and Michael Ruggiero. She was the loving great grandmother of Nicholas, Jagger and Brody. Toni was the dear sister of Angelina Spamas.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Wednesday from 4-8pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM.
