Steve H. Walles of Merrimack, New Hampshire, formerly of Stoneham, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly of a cardiac event on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was 51 years of age.
Steve was born in Malden on March 14, 1967, lived in Somerville, Massachusetts until 1974, and then in Stoneham, Massachusetts where he lived until June of 2018. Steve was the loving son of Patricia A. (McLaughlin) Walles and the late Robert E. Walles. Steve was the beloved brother of Robert M. Walles and his wife Donna, Scott R. Walles and his late wife Jeanette, Mary Judith McGrath and her husband David, and cousin of Michael H. Hartnett and his wife Ann Cavallo – Hartnett. He was a devoted uncle to Robert E. Walles, II, Kristina M. Walles, Joseph McLaughlin Walles, Michael D. McGrath and Sean T. McGrath.
Steve was a wonderfully warm, sweet and caring man, always willing to share a story and offer a friendly smile and greeting to anyone he met. He was a proud member of the Stoneham High School Class of 1985, and enjoyed the many class reunions he attended with his classmates. He was a tape librarian at CitiCorp, and then joined Electronic Data Systems (EDS) where worked for 22 years, as a Print Operator. He had many wonderful co-workers from EDS, many of whom he remained close to throughout his life.
Steve was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 1999, beat this disease, and was proud to say he was a 19 year survivor. Steve loved music from the 1960's, and television and movies of the 1960's & 1970's. He could tell you details about songs, artists, actors and directors of most songs, shows and movies from that era. He had a keen sense of humor, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He spent many wonderful days at his second home, Canobie Lake Park. He so enjoyed the shows, rides and atmosphere at his beloved park, and made many friends there, who we know will miss him greatly.
