Susan Ann Keith Nichols passed quetly on February 12, 2017 at the age of 88 with her daughter Aimee at her side. Born in Stoneham, MA and attended Simmons College in Boston where she earned a BA in journalism. She became a newspaper reporter for The New Haven Register in Old Saybrook, CT. where she lived for several years. She had interviewed such people as Mickey Rooney, Sid Ceasar, Joan Fontaine and Jerry Lewis.She then was appointed by the late, Govenor Ella T. Grasso to the posistion of Exectutive Assistant to the Commisioner of Consumer Protection in Hartford.She had help write and pass the "Lemon Law" bill and which she had helped so many people solve their dispute and was often seen on the local newscasts. Susan was held in very high regard by those who were in her presence and she will be dearly missed by those of who knew her. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Alan, John and James and also her son Keith Loius Nichols and daughter Susan Payson Nichols. She is survived by her daughters' Joanna French Nichols of Spokane, WA and Aimee Cole Nichols of Charlestown, MA.She also leaves behind neices, nephews and two sister in-laws. Her wish was to have her ashes spread along the Oyster River in Old Saybrook where her childrens' are as well. This was her favorite place.
