IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susan M.
(Silkes) Bruno
August 7, 1947 – July 27, 2025
Bruno, Susan M. Silkes-Of Wilmington. Beloved wife of Gerard Bruno. Loving mother of Marc Bruno and his wife Marlena of Boxford and Elaine Simmons and her husband Erich of NH. Daughter of the late Mary and William Silkes. Sister of William Silkes and his wife Barbara of RI. Cherished grandmother to Anthony Sheehan, Dominque Golda, Avery Simmons and Adelynn Simmons.
Susan was born on August 7, 1947 and passed away suddenly on July 27th surrounded by her loving family. She may be gone but will live in our hearts and memories forever.
Susan was married to the love of her life Gerry, for over 55 years. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, cousin, aunt, grandmother, recent great grandmother and friend to all. She loved to spoil her grandkids! Susan loved her cat Mookie like no one else could. Susan loved her Saturday routine of going to the Orzo for lunch with Gerry to see her favorite waitstaff who all knew her by name. In her downtime, she enjoyed watching Seinfeld re-runs with Gerry and spending time on the back deck enjoying her glass, or 2 of Cavit Pinot Grigio and watching her favorite Boston team, the Red Sox. Susan loved to share her iPad games whenever her Granddaughters Avery and Adelynn came over to visit...she even ensured she had one for each of them to use :)
For an Irish lady, she could cook some of the most amazing Italian food her family has ever had. No one left her house hungry.
Her smile, her love, her warm embrace and her caring soul will be missed by all who ever had the blessing to meet her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Billerica Cat Care Coalition where she rescued her cat, Mookie. (https://www.billericacatcarecoalition.org/)
