Susan J. Surette

Susan J. "Susie" (Muise) Surette passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 8th 2011 at Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Center at the age of 100.



Beloved wife of the late Paul Ernest (Amos) Surette; mother of the late Pauline Quinlan and her late husband Paul of North Reading; Ellen Morrow and her husband Bob of Southport, NC; Dolores Van Horn and her late husband Earl of Tewksbury; Warren and his wife Elizabeth of Edgewater, MD; Denis of Topsfield; Robert and his wife Jo of Harrison, Maine; Stephen and his wife Cheryl of Reading; and Suzanne Hoffmann and her husband Tony of Peabody.



Born in Gloucester, Susan was orphaned at a very young age and raised with family on Surettes' Island in Nova Scotia, where she later met her husband. Susie and Amos lived in Reading for over 35 years raising their family. Susie worked with her family for some years in Reading at Christensen's Greenhouses, as well as caring for family and friends. She was a talented seamstress, creating beautiful wedding gowns and clothing for others; she enjoyed dancing, card night, and socializing with her husband and many loving friends.



Upon retirement, they moved with their daughter, Suzanne and family to Newfield, Maine. After the death of her husband, she relocated with her daughter's family to Saugus.



Susie made many trips back to beautiful Nova Scotia 'Down East' where she still has family and friends. Grammere' was adored by her grandchildren, the life of the party, and the center of her family. She will be truly missed by her children, her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
