Thelma M. (Fuccillo) Sacco of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. She was 81 years of age.
Thelma, daughter of Italian immigrant father and native Bostonian mother, was born and raised in East Boston. Upon graduation with Honors from East Boston High School, she was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a secretary at the State House. Together with her husband George, they moved to Stoneham to raise their four children. In Stoneham, she worked as a Traffic Director for over ten years, and later worked at the accounting firm of Burke and Company as a receptionist and office assistant. She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Stoneham for 45 years and served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered with her husband, George, helping St. Patrick's Food Group serve meals to those in need. Her greatest joys were raising her children, cooking for family and friends, and spending time with her nine grandchildren, whom she adored.
Thelma was the beloved wife of George P. Sacco, Sr. She was the devoted mother of Isabel Pariante and her husband Albert, George P. Sacco, Jr. and his wife Janet, Lauren Seeley and her husband Albert and Karen Sparks and her husband David. She was the cherished grandmother of Peter, Gregory, George, Rachel, Michael, Isabella, Madeline, Sarah and John. Thelma was the dear sister of Isabelle Buschini and husband Robert, Ronald Fuccillo and wife Sandra, the late Matilda and husband Martin Palazzolo, the late Carmen Fuccillo and wife Margaret and the late Pasquale Fuccillo and wife Virginia. Loving daughter of the late Carmine and Isabella (Casoli) Fuccillo. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. Reading at 8:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Thelma's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 9:00am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
