Therese M. (Donovan) Macdonald

Therese M. (Donovan) Macdonald of Reading, passed away on Thursday, March 29th, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born in Boston, she is the daughter of the late John and Mary (Harris) Donovan. Therese grew up in Dorchester and was a graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School.

Therese was the loving wife of 50 years to the late Philip A. Macdonald. Beloved Mother of Peter E. Macdonald and his wife Pam, Christine A. McEleney and her husband John, Maria M. Arthur and her husband Charlie and Ted Macdonald. Cherished Nana of CJ, Alex and Vicki Arthur, Cameron, Olivia, Sophia and Ameilia Macdonald and Patrick McEleney. Daughter of the late John and Mary (Harris) Donovan. Sister of the late Bernard Donovan, Marie Flynn, John Donovan, Dorothy Hannon her twin sister Trudy Colbert and Helen McDonald. Aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. She was the cherished lifelong friend to many.

Therese was a long time teacher at the Peter Pan Nursery School in Reading. She enjoyed Boston Sports teams, was a parishioner at St. Patrick's Church in Stoneham and enjoyed traveling with her many dear friends. She was a loving and devoted mother and nana. Therese will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Funeral from the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St., READING, Tuesday, April 3rd at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Therese's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with her family on Monday, April 2nd from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance available.

Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
