Obituary

Thomas F. DiMario beloved son of Elizabeth "Betty" (McQueston) DiMario and the late Francis "Frank" DiMario Sr. of Somerville passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the age of 68.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Somerville, a graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge and earned his degree in Fine Arts from The Vesper George School of Art in Boston. Tom was a talented artist who had a full career as a graphic designer and illustrator. He was a life-long learner who continued to take art courses throughout his life, contributing to the vibrant art community in the Boston area. While drawing was his passion, photography was his hobby. Never a day went by that a local place of interest did not catch his eye for quick snapshot. His talents extended into music where he became a self-made musician and played the drums for local bands, most notably "Country Fever" in his youth.

Tom never gave up on the impossible dream Red Sox and was an avid Bruins and Patriot supporter. He held season tickets at Gillette stadium and was witness to all the GOAT seasons there. He supported the local college hockey teams and attended many Beanpot Tournaments as well. He enjoyed walking the byways of his beloved Somerville and Boston. He developed himself into an amateur historian of the area and was quick to share old photographs of the historical and not so well known sights and landmarks. He enjoyed the great outdoors and frequented the wild and native lands of the Midwest and Northeast especially Maine. He enjoyed hiking through the National Parks and the occasional fly-fishing trip. He later took up golf and claims credit for two "holes-in-one" over the years, as the story goes.

In addition to being a loving son to Elizabeth and the late Francis Sr., he is forever loved by his four cherished brothers: Fran (Francis Jr.) DiMario and his wife Sandra of Simsbury CT, Bill DiMario and wife Kate of Bolton, Paul DiMario and his wife Cindy of Salem, NH, and Rich DiMario of Somerville. He is the loving uncle to Trevor DiMario, Tyler DiMario, Benjamin DiMario, Anna DiMario, Matthew DiMario and his wife Rachel, Sara (DiMario) Dwyer and her husband Ryan Dwyer, and Jessica DiMario. Great uncle to Callan and Jack Ryan Dwyer and Michael DiMario. Beloved cousin of Cecelia Phelan (her late husband Bob), Mary Ann McQueston, and Donna Callahan (her husband Bill and their children Dan and Brian). Best friends: Al Smith, John D'Agresta and Bill Veronelli. There are many other extended family members related to: DiMario, McQueston, Ciccanesi, Bucci, Cortina, Folosi, Cota other friends and co-workers at Helen of Troy in Marlborough, MA.
