Thomas J. Gilmartin Jr. of Stoneham passed away on Monday, January 5th, 2026. He is 63 years of age.
Born on Friday, August 24, 1962 in Winchester, Thomas is the loving son of the late Thomas J. Gilmartin and Joan (Day) Gilmartin. Thomas is a warm, gentle, kind and loyal son, brother, father, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed.
Thomas was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School and Norwich University, where he excelled at both Hockey and Baseball. He proudly worked for New Balance at their headquarters in Brighton, where he was able to combine his love for sports with his career.
Tom loved to play golf, referee high school hockey, coach little league baseball, and dancing the night away with his friends and family.
Above all, he was a family man through and through. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his sisters, brother, nephews, nieces, son, and granddaughter.
Thomas is the beloved father of Nathan Tikonoff. He is the cherished grandfather of Peyton Tikonoff. The dear brother of Kathleen Gilmartin, Maureen Caracciolo and her husband Tony, Doreen Xirinachs and her husband Steve, Erin Porter and her husband John and Robert Gilmartin and his wife Kerri, Thomas is the adored uncle of Nick Cacciola, Neil Cacciola, Jonathan Davis, Anthony Caracciolo, Mike Caracciolo, Stephen Xirinachs, Kelsey Porter, Riley Porter, John Porter, Cameron Gilmartin, Connor Gilmartin, Kevin Gilmartin and the late Caitlin Xirinachs.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Thomas’ Family on Thursday, January 8th from 4-7pm in the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main Street (RT 28) STONEHAM, Friday, January 9th at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Thomas’ Eternal Life in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street Stoneham at 10am.
