Thomas Joseph Keane of North Port, Florida, formerly of Stoneham, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2022. He was 80 years old.
Tom was born on January 21, 1942 in Somerville, Massachusetts. He was the loving son of the late Thomas Keane and Pauline (Thebideau) Keane.
Tom was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Gassett) Keane for 56 years and a devoted father to Robert Keane and his wife Christine and Michael Keane. He was the very proud grandfather of Alyssa, Alex & Jake Keane. Tom was a dear brother to Martin Keane, Christine McNeil, Maureen McDermott and the late Kathleen O’Brien. Tom was a warm, kind and caring son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tom was a member of Local 17 Sheet Metal Workers Union before transitioning to a metal fabrication teacher at Malden High School. He was also a firefighter on the East Wakefield, New Hampshire Fire Department before he retired and moved to Florida with his wife, Patricia. Tom could always be found working on a house project or building and fabricating his own unique inventions. He would always find something to do or create and loved working with his hands. He was a master of storytelling, and more often than not, the stories would eventually end in a punchline that would leave you laughing and shaking your head. Tom loved spending time with his grandchildren and would beam at even their smallest of accomplishments. He loved being their Papa. Tom loved photography and could always be found with his camera close by. He also enjoyed exploring around the backroads of New Hampshire on his offroad motorcycle. Tom was always a hard worker, and he built a life for him and his family that he truly loved.
