Thomas F. Lundy passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was 72 years of age.





Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Thomas was the loving son of the late Bridget "Bessie" (Kelly) Lundy and Martin Lundy. Thomas was a warm and caring husband, father, son, grandfather and friend. He will be sadly missed.





During the Korean War, Thomas proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Air Force.





Thomas was a member of Stoneham Elks and Somerville American Legion #388. He graduated from St. Columbkille High School in Brighton, Class of 1955. He worked as a school teacher at Somerville High School before retiring. He enjoyed golfing and gardening. He liked watching sports, doing Sudoku puzzles, loved being home and in his yard spending time with his family. Thomas was proud of his Irish heritage.





Thomas was the beloved husband of 47 years of Mary Jane (Sullivan) Lundy. Devoted father of Jeannie Lundy, Maureen Lundy, Judy Lundy and her fiance Vince Bamberg and Kathy Schraffa and her husband Victor. Cherished grandfather of Louis Anthony Schraffa. Dear brother of Martin Lundy and his wife Patrice, Rita Voner and her late husband Joseph and the late James Lundy. Brother-in-law of Pat Lundy. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Friday at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Thomas' life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment with Military Honors, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
