Thomas F. Wallace of Reading passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at his home. He was 81 years of age.





Born in Boston, Thomas was the loving son of the late Patrick Wallace and Penelope (Reaney) Wallace. Thomas was a warm and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed.





Thomas was a dedicated employee for the Telephone Industry for over 35 years. He retired from Verizon. Thomas loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed tennis, golf and traveling. Thomas also liked his Friday night card games with his neighbors.





During World War II, Thomas proudly defended our freedom by serving as a Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps.





Thomas was the beloved husband for 59 years of the late Dorothea F. (Flanagan) "Dorothy" Wallace. He was the loving father of Thomas A. Wallace and his wife Carole, Karen A. Wallace, Jerry E. Wallace and his wife Louise, Kevin F. Wallace and his wife Deborah, Patrick J. Wallace and his wife Karen and Jane D. Goggin and her husband Kevin. Thomas was the cherished grandfather of 14, great grandfather of 7. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.





Funeral from the Doherty - Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Tuesday at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Thomas' life in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10:30am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Monday from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot on Linden St. Interment Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
